Prepare for the CIT examination by...- attending one of NESHTA's Designing and Delivering Effective Training workshops. These award-winning workshops are designed for persons who are already proficient in their training specialty area, but need training or review in adult training and education programs. The workshop is also offered by a number of member partners;
- using the CIT Program and Examination Guide, (Note: temporarily, the CIT and CET Guides are identical. For CIT purposes, refer only to those portions of the Guide that pertain to the Instructional Technology test) which contains the "Need-to-Know Criteria" for Instructional Technology test;
- attending adult training skills courses offered by colleges, universities, and other training skills vendors nationwide; and,
CIT eligibility requirements are...- proof of eligibility, acquired through education and/or experience. At least two years must be direct experience in a field relevant to the training offered;
- a minimum of 270 hours in delivering education or training;
- three professional references attesting to the applicant's skill as a trainer;
- successful completion of the CIT Instructional Technology test; and,
- continuing professional development and professional practice, annual maintenance, and renewal every five years
